Paige and Marshall’s swanky engagement session in Downtown Manhattan felt like a natural extension of everything they’ve begun to build together. After photographing their chic speakeasy engagement party, stepping into this next moment with them felt less like starting something new and more like continuing a narrative already in motion. Their “La Vie en Rose” vision carried through effortlessly here, softening the edges of the city into something romantic and entirely their own.
We began at Printemps, the new French department store in Downtown Manhattan. Paige’s look leaned into that same elegance she carried into their engagement party. With styling and beauty that felt intentional yet natural, the focus stayed on the two of them. There’s something about photographing a couple in a space like this that feels cinematic. No need to over-direct, no need to force a moment, just allowing things to unfold… caught in the act, if you will.
From there, we moved through their neighborhood, where their dog, Boo, joined in, adding a layer of familiarity that made everything feel even more personal. It’s these small inclusions that shape a gallery into something that feels complete; more like pieces of a life rather than just portraits. We eventually landed at Beefbar in TriBeCa, where the energy shifted slightly. A bit more romance, a bit more edge, but still grounded in that same tone they’ve carried from the beginning.
Photographing Paige and Marshall across multiple events has truly allowed me to see the full picture of who they are together. The way they move through a room, the way their energy shifts depending on the setting, the way their story holds consistency even as the backdrop changes. There is something incredibly meaningful to me about documenting a celebration in its entirety, not just the wedding day itself. Each piece becomes part of a larger collection, one that feels cohesive and deeply personal.
Their engagement session sits perfectly within that collection. It gives context to everything that follows.
