Paige and Marshall’s chic speakeasy engagement party in NYC was an absolute masterclass in downtown glamour. Held at The Factory 380 in the iconic “Lips Room,” the evening felt less like a standard celebration and more like a private, high-society afterparty. Consequently, the atmosphere was thick with a sense of “La Vie En Rose,” serving as the perfect, moody introduction to their upcoming wedding theme.
The night unfolded in a blur of deep reds, shimmering sequins, and classic New York grit. Paige stunned in a sculptural burgundy sequin mini and a dramatic feathered wrap that moved beautifully through the crowded room. Significantly, the couple leaned into a vibe that was intentionally bold and upbeat. From the “I Heart M+P” pins to the vintage-inspired “Anthora” coffee cups, every detail paid homage to the city where their love story lives.
Furthermore, the flash photography mirrored the rhythmic, fast-paced energy of the city. I utilized a blend of digital photography, 35mm film and even a 00s digital camera to create a nostalgic texture for their gallery. Whether they were posing against the velvet curtains, or mixing through the crowd, the couple remained the effortless center of gravity. Thereafter, the party shifted into high gear as the disco ball spun above, casting light across their inner circle.
This engagement party set the tone for everything still to come, including their “Modern & Swanky Engagement in Downtown Manhattan that I had the honor to capture, as well. Paige and Marshall’s La Vie En Rose inspired engagement session is one to remember, and you can read it on the blog here.
Since I am photographing their entire sequence of wedding events, capturing this specific energy felt like documenting the first electric chapter of a much larger cinematic story. Ultimately, there is something so transformative about capturing every event in a sequence; it allows you to create an entire world for your loved ones to inhabit. Thus, the final collection of galleries becomes a cohesive, timeless legacy that feels as grand as the city itself. I would be delighted to help you build the world of your own celebration. Shall we start a conversation?
