Natalie and Alex’s celebration of love was truly one of my favorites. From the moment I met this couple, I could tell that they were not only incredibly kind, but also untraditional and unique in their approach to love and life. Natalie always believed she would never get married and had no desire to… until she met Alex. He changed it all for her. They met, fell in love, and the rest was truly history.
The day before their wedding celebration, they had a simple and sweet ceremony at city hall, followed by a welcome party with their closest friends and family at Madam Mikette’s. This was a very special time to mingle, observe, and enjoy time getting to know Natalie and Alex’s people. They told wonderful stories and shared memories of the couple, and I was so honored to be a part of it all.
On the morning of October 22nd, Natalie and Alex woke up to get ready for the celebration. They got ready separately, but finished getting ready together for some final touches. We popped champagne and cheered with their closest friends and family. I took bridal portraits that were true to them, untraditional, sexy, and unique. We explored Legacy Records in Midtown as well, which had a mid-century modern vibe with green walls and added even more portraits for the bride and groom.
The sunset over New York was absolutely stunning that night, and such a perfect representation of the beautiful celebration being had. Natalie and Alex’s evening was so intimate. There were two long cocktail tables for the guests, which allowed everyone to mingle during the dinner party. Natalie and Alex have both worked in the food industry, so it was important to them to incorporate extravagant food into the evening. The way they created a perfect dining experience was beautiful.
Throughout the night, I came back over and over to this idea of “communion” in the sense that everyone was dining, having meaningful conversation, and celebrating a radiant couple who brought everyone in this room together. It was so special, and rare, to see a couple bring such connection, joy, and delight into a group of people.
During her toast, Natalie had everyone look at the back of their menus, which housed a poem that reflected the love they shared.. It was emotional and spoke volumes about their connection. I felt honored to be a part of this celebration and story that will be cherished and told for years to come.
