There are some weddings that feel less like an event and more like a film you never want to end. These two New Yorkers’ wedding at The Liberty Warehouse was exactly that. It felt old-school and deeply romantic. This warm October day was the kind that unfolds with intention, From the very beginning, I knew this one would stay with me. It felt like New York in its truest form: timeless and classic.
Francesca stepped into her gown a soft elegance. Don, with a classic groom look, carried that same presence. The ceremony felt thoughtful and full of emotion. Lovely white flowers and classic black ties stood out against the decorated walls of the Catholic Church. Before celebrating with family and friends, the newlyweds strolled along the waterfront, holding one another close with no audience and no performance. Just the two of them. They slipped into the vintage Rolls Royce, sharing one more quiet moment together before the excitement of the reception. Their post-ceremony bliss in the Rolls Royce reminded me of the iconic ending from The Graduate.
Then the sun began to set. If I had to choose my favorite part of any wedding day, it would be this. The candlelight. The hum of conversation. The way everyone softens once the formalities are behind them. It’s immersive and utterly romantic. Guests clinked glasses and laughter echoed across the room as the dance floor became alive. But what I’ll remember most is their private first dance rehearsal. Before the room filled, the newly-married couple held each other in the quiet glow of the candles. Cheek to cheek in the middle of it all, letting each and every emotion soak in.
Francesca and Don’s wedding was everything I love about photographing New York City weddings. The timeless details, emotional depth, beautiful light, and a lively celebration after dark. All of those feelings belong here in the heart of this sleepless city. Couples who are looking for something classic, cinematic, and deeply personal, I’d love to tell your story next.
