Erin and Dylan’s classic New York City wedding day felt like the kind of story that unfolds intentionally, with every moment considered and every detail meaningful. These lovers met working together as elementary school teachers, and that foundation of care bled deep into their celebration.
Set against the Manhattan skyline at The Bordone, the day felt classic with a modern twist. Erin, who truly loved the process of planning, approached every part of their wedding with the mindset of making it an experience. Nothing felt rushed or routine, in fact, each piece was something to be enjoyed, from the smallest detail to the biggest parts of the celebration.
Their design leaned into clean black and white, elevated with personal touches that made the day feel entirely their own. Guests arrived in chic cocktail attire that matched the tone of the evening, while details like custom matchbooks, a crossword puzzle at the bar, and framed artwork from their students added a sweet layer of personality. One of the most meaningful elements that caught my eye (and many others, may I add) was a collection of framed cake cutting photos from family weddings past, sitting next to their wedding cake, adding a beautiful nod to to their legacy.
As the sun began to set, the Manhattan skyline became the backdrop to it all: soft and glowing orange and pink above the buzzing city. Just them, their people, and the city, making it feel almost too perfect to be real. The celebration carried on with an ease that felt true to who they are. Glasses clinking and silver streamers flying. I delightfully observed, capturing each frame as the moments happened. The checkered dance floor and disco ball brought just enough energy, striking that balance between classic and modern.
The O’Brian’s wedding was thoughtful in details and classic in design. It’s the kind of wedding that feels both current and timeless; the kind you could imagine watching back years from now, still just as meaningful. If you’re looking for a New York City Wedding Photographer to turn your wedding day memories into a timeless classic, I’d be thrilled to begin talking with you.
