Caitlyn and Kevin’s Modern Gatsby style wedding in New York unfolded like a love letter to old-world romance. From the very beginning, the celebration at the historic J.P. Morgan estate carried a sophisticated energy. The entire weekend felt both grand and intimately connected.
The morning began with Caitlyn getting ready within the ornate, stone walls of the manor. She wove a sleek, cinematic aesthetic into every detail, from her sculptural orchid bouquet to her architectural satin gown. By dusk, guests gathered in the sunken Italian garden for a ceremony framed by ivy. The setting felt deeply reverent, especially as Kevin recited his entire vows perfectly from memory.
Significantly, their shared love of food and wine became a cornerstone of the day. Instead of a traditional unity candle, they celebrated by sharing a glass of fine red wine. In addition, they curated flat-lay details with vintage postcards from their favorite NYC restaurants. These intentional details made the historic venue feel like a private dinner party.
The couple’s reception entrance was a cinematic masterpiece. In a nod to a classic New York film, they entered to “Then He Kissed Me,” a stylish tribute to the iconic Goodfellas scene. Thereafter, this high-energy moment transitioned into a first dance under crystal chandeliers.
Finally, the couple closed the evening by posing behind the mahogany bar and mixing martinis. They intentionally leaned into a mood that was sexy, classy, and chic. While not every couple wants their gallery to feel “sexy,” I am personally all in for however you want to feel on your day. Ultimately, I believe your images should feel uniquely you. Whether that is reverent and traditional or bold and editorial, I’m here to capture the history and personality that makes your story yours. Shall we begin?
