Amy and Rick’s vibrant love story unfolded against the iconic backdrop of Brooklyn, New York. Their wedding day, hosted at the historic Wythe Hotel – a renowned Brooklyn wedding venue that seamlessly blends historic charm with modern luxury – transformed this former factory into a boutique haven that perfectly encapsulated the spirit of Brooklyn. Collaborating with talented vendors like Marian Frances Events for day-of coordination elevated their wedding to new heights.
A Modern Love Story
Amy and Rick’s journey began on a dating app, evolving into a four-year adventure. Their connection to my work grew from the happiness I had previously captured for another couple, creating a unique bond that added an extra layer of authenticity to their special day.
The Welcome Brunch
A sunny New York City day provided the ideal canvas for Amy and Rick’s weekend of celebration, beginning with a welcome brunch on the rooftop of the Wythe Hotel. The panoramic views of the city, visible from this historic boutique hotel turned wedding venue, added a touch of magic to their colorful and genuine celebration. Getting to know guests, friends, and family and Amy and Rick at the Welcome Brunch was such an amazing way to start the weekend. I love joining in this part of the celebration, and would love to join you for yours! See other “day before” celebrations I’ve been a part of.
Getting Ready in the Bridal Suite
As I arrived at the bridal suite in the Wythe Hotel on the morning of the wedding, I was greeted by the radiant beauty of Amy, whose porcelain-like skin and angelic heart captivated everyone around her. Moments spent with her mother were filled with stories, laughter, and shared memories, creating a sense of familial warmth that extended beyond the lens.
An Authentic First Look
Amy and Rick’s first look epitomized complete authenticity. Nothing was staged; it simply unfolded in the most genuine manner. The couple lived in the moment, savoring every second of their wedding weekend. Amy’s mom added a surprise element, gifting them a vintage yellow taxi for their portrait session that captured the essence of their love and iconic parts of New York City.
The Ceremony
Each part of the Wythe Hotel tells a story. The venue flows so perfectly to a point where I felt myself reminded of home. Each part of the ceremony was special. From their friend who had been around for the length of their relationship to their personally written vows, each moment was so genuine, and incredibly beautiful.
Banquet Tables for a Restaurant Dinner
And now, my favorite part of the day: the reception. Held in a space adorned with beautiful banquet tables, the cocktail hour and reception exuded an intimate family dinner vibe. Candles, greenery, and tapered candles added a touch of romance. Capturing each guest in this intimate setting allowed me to preserve the entire essence of the day. I was able to connect with each and every guest at the celebration, and it just felt like one big family dinner at the banquet tables. There were so many moments I noticed during this part of the day: special moments like the one between Rick and his new father-in-law emerged, capturing the essence of why I love what I do. These life-defining and sweet interactions showcased the depth of connection that weddings bring to light.
